  • Teshia has been teaching Yoga for 8 years and is still humbled daily, by the privilege of being able to do so! To expand her own practice (and with the hope of inspiring others to begin a yoga practice!) Teshia participated in the “Yoga Asana Championships” in both 2009 and 2011. Both of these years Teshia went on to represent Toronto and Canada as the “Eastern Yoga Champion,” competing on an international stage in Los Angeles, California.

    Teshia has also appeared in many Yoga videos featured on TheDailyHiit (formerly known as BodyRock.tv).

    In addition to teaching yoga, Teshia is also the founder of her own Nutritional Consulting business, Living Life. The opportunity to merge her two main passions (Yoga and Nutrition), has been met by Teshia with pure joy. As our adventure yoga guide and specialist, Teshia helps facilitate exercises that promote balance, body awareness, strength and of course flexibility. We’re thrilled to have this Yogini onboard!

  • Melissa

  • Melissa has been instructing Yoga since 2004, after she completed her training from Downward Dog Yoga Centre in Toronto. She is CPR and First Aid Certified. Her talents and passion make her a sought after yoga instructor across Ontario. She is also a SUP Yoga specialist, guiding many participants across the beautiful scenic shores across Ontario.

    Melissa runs a private yoga practise, offering both Indoor and Outdoor Yoga (including SUP Yoga) sessions to thousands of participants around the city. Her services have been provided to companies like the Yorkville Equinox Club, Toronto Island SUP and many others.

    She brings her happy attitude, expertise and passion to Exploration Fitness, where she provides an incredible outdoor Yoga experience for our participants and travelers. Melissa is also available for private and group instruction. We are proud to have her onboard!

  • Erin

  • Erin is a Physiotherapist and passionate adventurist with a wide range of skills in Sports Therapy. She is a graduate from McMaster’s Physiotherapy program, as well as, a Certified Fascial Stretch Therapist. She is registered with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario and has completed post education in manual and manipulative therapy.

    Erin applies a unique global movement approach with clients to identify faulty movement patterns and combines advanced manual therapy, fascial stretching & exercise to restore normal patterns.  She is a course instructor for various Fascial Stretch Therapy and Physical Assessment Seminars, designed to help personal trainers improve their skill sets. During her time as a Certified Strength & Conditioning Coach, she trained various athletes and adventurists to gain a profound knowledge of sports therapy.

    Erin is an integral part of our adventure fitness program and assists us in keeping our commitment to providing the safest travels in the world. Her feedback and therapeutic implementation helps keep our adventurists outside where they belong! In her spare time Erin enjoys keeping up with her wonderful twins, Isla and Kieran, while spending most of her time outdoors exploring new adventures and overcoming physical challenges.

  • Do your ‘all-inclusive’ tours include international airfare?

    Our all-inclusive international adventure tours include accommodations, meals, activities and all local transportation. Since Adventure Travelers arrive from all over the world to begin these tours, it’s not possible to include international airfare in our prices. However, we’d be happy to help you arrange your flights. Just ask for an ‘air quote’ when making your booking.

    Can you help arrange my travel visas?

    Currently, none of our available tours require travel visas, which makes things easier. However, if any of our upcoming tours destination require visas, we will help arrange your travel visa and provide you all the necessary resources and instructions upon booking your tour. From start to finish, our team of experts are hand-on, every step of the way.

    What is the most appropriate type of luggage to bring and what should I pack?

    Travel light and move fast is our motto. Having said that, the way our tours have been designed, you will not have to worry about getting stuck carrying suitcases on and off buses and trains. Furthermore, we provide you with a comprehensive preparation and packing list of everything you need to know and bring for each adventure tour. Simply click on the ‘Preparation and Packing List’ link to download the information.

    What clothing should I pack for one of your adventures?

    We always recommend packing as light as possible however the specific requirements for your tour will vary widely depending on where and when you are traveling. Our ‘Packing List’ document includes a suggested packing list and these can be downloaded from each individual trip summary page. The checklist is tour specific and based upon the experience of our expert staff.

    Do we require vaccinations for any of your adventures?

    Currently, none of our tours require vaccination. However, if any of our upcoming tour destinations require vaccinations, we will provide that information and resources to you upon inquiry. Please note: It is important that you receive the most accurate and up-to-date travel health information for the region you will be visiting. The only one qualified to provide you with this advice is your family physician or a specialist from a Travel Health clinic.

    How many people can join a tour?

    We keep our group sizes low so that you get more personal attention from our adventure guides. Group sizes range from 8 to 16 participants. This intimate size ensures that your group will not crowd your experience.

    What are the age restrictions on your tours?

    To travel independently you must be at least 18 years of age. There are no upper age limits for our tours as we provide an initial assessment to rule out any pre-existing medical conditions or physical injuries that may prevent your participation. The minimum age required to participate in our adventures ranges from 12 to 14 years of age when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian (maximum of 2 children per adult).

    I’m a single traveller, will I be charged a single supplement?

    Most of our trips do not have a single supplement. This means that the accommodation is on a twin share basis and, if you are travelling on your own, you will be sharing a room with another G Adventures traveller of the same sex. Some tours have an optional single supplement or rarely a mandatory single supplement.

    An optional service that may be available is called “My Own Room”. This service allows solo travellers to request their own private room while on tour. The cost and the details vary by trip, so please contact our office for more details.

    Can I change my hotel accommodation?

    Some of our destinations do not include hotel rooms but rather tree houses and cave camps. So, if you prefer a specific tree house, I’m sure we can accommodate! For destinations with hotels, they are not available for change, as they are included in the set itinerary.

    Can I join a tour late or leave it early?

    It’s extremely difficult if not impossible to join a tour after it has begun. It is possible to leave a tour early, however, you will be responsible for your own arrangements from the moment you decide to leave the tour. You would also be responsible for all costs associated with joining a tour late or leaving one early. If you feel this may be necessary please contact our Travel Specialist before booking your tour.

    Is local transportation included?

    We provide the easiest way to adventure travel by assuring that all your local transportation within your trip itinerary will be covered. You will be responsible for all costs related to personal transportation not included in your itinerary (i.e.; transit or taxis on your free time).

    Who are my travelling companions?

    For privacy reasons we cannot provide you with advance details on your traveling companions. Our tours appeal to a wide range of travellers, most of whom are health conscious and share an adventurous spirit.

    What does your sustainable and healthy brand mean to my trip experience?

    Our brand of ‘Adventure Travel, Only Healthier.’, means that the locations you will travel to will be filled with natural, untouched landscapes. Our support for local farming in each of our destinations guarantees that the food you will be consuming is fresh, local and natural. Our physically healthy tours allows us to participate in activities every day, with minimal if no sight seeing – which you are welcomed to do on your free time instead of joining our ‘yoga downtime’. We strive to provide trips that make you feel stronger, enlightened, humbled, clear headed and more energized upon your return.

    Can I book extra nights of hotel accommodation before or after my tour?

    Yes, in most cases we can arrange additional accommodation at our starting or ending hotels. Our tours are also located in locations where you can easily plan an extended getaway. Please contact our office for more details about extended stay information.

    Is tipping included and if not, how much should I budget?

    Tips are not included in the tour price. Since our adventure tours are all-inclusive, we recommend tipping at about 5% of the cost of your trip.

  • Stephanie

  • Stephanie is an adventurist with a passion for wellness and nature. During her years as a Personal Trainer in Toronto, she pursued studies in Nutritional Sciences. She then moved to California, where she completed the Sports Medicine Internship Program at The University of California (UCLA). It was here that she discovered her passion for all things adventure.

    California became a haven for all her adventure thrills, as she bounced from one challenge to the next, before taking up adventure racing. In 2012, Stephanie moved back to Toronto and joined Pũr FITT™ Integrative Heath Solutions as a Nutrition Consultant. She currently overlooks certain areas of the Pũr FITT™ Testing System and assists in the implementation of nutrition protocols.

    Stephanie continues to travel the world, mainly throughout Central America, where she enjoys guiding tours and helping the poor. Stephanie’s cutting-edge skills and passion for adventure brings her to Exploration Fitness, where she helps ensure that we continue to provide healthy adventure travel.

  • Laine

  • Laine is a Certified Personal Trainer, Strength Coach and Motivator in the fitness industry. For over 13 years, he has been implementing exercise programs to a wide range of clientele that range from busy executives to athletes. Laine spent many years studying in BC, where his passion for adventure and extreme sports began.

    Laine successfully earned his title of State/Provincial Strength and Conditioning Specialist from the world renowned Poliqun International Certification Program. He has earned a great reputation for his continued success in training an assortment of young athletes in hockey, soccer, tennis, baseball, MMA and most recently surfers.

    He continues to expand his knowledge by involving himself in various specialized fitness workshops and traveling the world. His personal regime includes various forms of strength training throughout the week, brazilian jiu jitsu training and eating right. Laine brings his expertise to Exploration Fitness and overlooks various aspects of our Warrior Camps.

  • Marissa

  • Born and raised in Toronto, Marissa was always on the go.  She participated in events and sports activities every night of the week.  Sports included hockey, soccer, tennis, swimming and even Girl Guides!  While attending De La Salle College, Marissa focused her efforts on hockey and played for the Ontario Senior Women’s League, and finally at Ryerson University.

    Marissa graduated with Honours from Ryerson University’s prestigious Radio and Television Arts Program in 2009. It was during her summers as a student that Marissa began leading tours for Impact Educational Tours and running outdoor education programs in Algonquin and Killarney Provincial Parks.  Her passion for travel grew,  as she traveled extensively across the United States, Central America, the Caribbean, Australia, Europe, China and South East Asia. She later joined 360 Student Travel, leading backpacking trips throughout Europe, and Student Abroad Travel, who operates trips in Australia, Fiji and New Zealand.  

    Marissa presently own and operates Single Space Productions, a corporate and promotional video production company in Toronto and guides our tours throughout the year, when she’s not making great things happen in her office.  She remains to this day, a sports fanatic, while still actively involved in sports like Hockey, Rugby, Soccer and Basketball.

  • Nick

  • Nick grew up in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island where sports and fitness were always a big part of his life. Nick is an avid soccer player and former professional skier and the outdoors has always brought a smile to his face.

    He graduated with high distinction from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec. During his time at McGill, he was employed during the summers by Parks Canada as a heritage interpreter and guide. Nick became involved with tour guiding for adventure youth travel as a tour director for Westcoast Connections. With Westcoast, Nick has led adventure and community service trips across Canada, the United States and Costa Rica.

    In 2005 Nick joined the Student Abroad Travel team and twice was awarded tour guide of the year. Nick proudly led international youth tours for Impact Education Tours though 2007. In 2008, Nick returned to the East Coast of Canada and began pursuing a medical degree at Dalhousie University. In 2012, he moved to Ontario to pursuing further training in Emergency Medicine at the University of Ottawa and will become a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 2017. He has completed a fellowship in Prehospital and Disaster Medicine as well as additional training in trauma, advanced cardiac life support, and toxicology. Nick has traveled throughout Canada, America, Europe, Asia, Central America, Australia.

By morning I drank coffee while looking out at breathtaking, uncultivated nature, but by day I was climbing cliffs, rafting rivers, and repelling down mountains. The exhilaration of the days made the relaxing evenings feel earned.

    I will forever remember the sense of accomplishment I felt after overcoming my angst when I stepped off the face of a 300ft cliff. Never in my life did I think a vacation could be so rewarding. I stretched my personal boundaries and returned home feeling as though I had conquered the world, or at least a 300ft piece of it.
    Exploration Fitness not only provided the trip, but also helped me prepare for the trip. A couple months before the trip, I talked with Ari, the fitness trainer, whom coached me through both a fitness program, and a nutrition program. Not only did the programs help me prepare for the daily challenges of the trip, but also continue to help me feel healthier in my daily life.

    I am grateful to the guides, trainers, and helpers for all the effort they put into planning and making this adventure a reality. I would recommend this challenging, yet highly rewarding trip to anyone. I cannot wait to start planning my next one!

Ari is the fitness director and called us to talk through any past and/or current injuries and created a personal workout plan to follow if I wasn’t able to attend the fitness camp that was provided.

    Following this plan helped out a lot during the trip and I was able to get the most out of every single day. While there, the guides were great! Chico, Daniel, and Cristian made sure that all the accommodations were set up. Food was amazing, grilled natural meats daily form the local farms and so tasty! We had a full set of activities to do every day, which made sure that everyone was enjoying their time and kept moving. This was the best trip I have ever been on and would go again in a heartbeat.

Having said that, the months leading up to the trip also really motivated me toget fit, I wanted to bring the best version of myself to Chile, so that I could really enjoy every activity. I loved getting new workouts and the attention of the personal trainers really helped keep me on track. Your team was also unbelievably supportive, with always answering any questions right away and really ‘taking care of us’ before we even stepped foot onto the plane!

    As for the actual trip, there was no room for disappointment and there wasn’t anything I would have changed. The scenery was breathtaking and truly indescribable. I constantly felt so fortunate, to havethe opportunity to travel to such a remote and beautiful part off the world. The mountains, the constant breaths of fresh air and the turquoise of the glacial waters are what stayed with me the most. As for food (incredibly delicious and fresh every day!), accommodations (unique and ingenious), transportation (private planes!), activities (the best rafting of my life), relaxation (hot tubs every night) – I couldn’t have wished for anything more.

    We were a very well taken care of and content group for that week we were camping along the river. The staff and guides once we were there were beyond incredible and were always ensuring that we were safe, prepared and having fun! It was bliss and I just had the best time! I came home feeling so reenergized and refreshed from this trip. When I got back people were saying that I was glowing (I think it was all the exercise and fresh mountain air). I would highly recommend this Patagonian adventure; you’ll get so much more out of it than you can imagine…it truly is a one of a kind experience! Buen Viaje!

  • Brad graduated with an Honors degree from Michigan State University in Commercial Recreation and Tourism Management. He also has an undergraduate certification from University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. In 2003 Brad launched Student Abroad Travel, SAT, is an adventure based travel company that tours university study abroad students through Australia, New Zealand and Fiji. To date, SAT has provided tours for over 1,000 students from 20 countries.

    Since 2005, Brad has been directing tours for Westcoast Connections, a youth tour operator out of the USA and Canada. Brad has led tours to Hawaii, China, Australia, New Zealand, Ecuador and the Galapoagos, Europe, Canada and the USA. Throughout his tour leading he has providing memorable experiences for over 1000 students.

    In 2010, Brad joined Moose Travel Network, as a co-owner and took over daily operations of this nationwide travel company. Brad still continues to work in Moose operations and has helped expand the departures to incorporate tours to the USA. Brad brings his knowledge, experience and passion to Exploration Fitness, where he helps to implement our unique and exceptional adventure program to the world.

  • Ariel

  • Ariel is a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Educator and Entrepreneur within the Wellness Industry. As a prior athlete, scholar of Applied Sciences in Kinesiology and a major in Nutritional Sciences, he has over 16 years of practical experience in the field. His continued education includes specialization programs at Ohio State University, University of Western Ontario, The Poliquin International Certification Program and The National Strength and Conditioning Association.

    Ariel founded Pũr FITT™ Integrative Health Solutions in 2006, an organization that pioneered an integrative testing system that identifies exercise and nutrition requirements, while providing cutting-edge first-line therapy programs. In 2010, he co-founded Mineral Test Canada with Orthopaedic Surgeon and Researcher Dr.Gerardo Rossi, to help patients achieve proper mineral balance through functional medicine and nutrition.

    Ariel’s expertise shaped the creation and implementation of our unique Adventure Fitness model. As Director of Exploration Fitness, he strives to provide the healthiest, safest and most sustainable adventures on the planet. When Ariel is not working, he loves cooking up a storm and tackling high intensity physical challenges to keep him sharp and healthy.
